The Tribal Gaming Commission is a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation dedicated to regulating all areas of the Tachi Palace Casino Resort per the Tribal Gaming Ordinance.
The function of the commission is regulatory, not managerial, in nature. The Gaming Commission is charged with all federal regulatory requirements under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA)
enforced by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC). In order to comply with all federal regulations the commission is authorized to conduct audits and investigations within gaming operations,
review and approve operational procedures and internal controls standards, and if necessary, take enforcement on behalf of the Tribal Nation. The Commission also serves as the licensing authority
for all Santa Rosa Rancheria gaming employees as well as vendors conducting business with the casinos. Some of the responsibilities the Commission carries are as follows:
♠ Establishing and adopting rules and standards for the operation of gaming activity
♣ Administering an effective program for background investigations as a part of the licensing process
♥ Monitoring compliance with the internal control standards for the gaming operation
♦ Gaming revenue tracking

The Commission is made up of Tribal Commissioners appointed by the Tribal Council to oversee the Administrative support staff, Licensing Department, Surveillance Department, the Risk Management Department and the Compliance Department whose job it is to "Protect the Tribal assets" by any means within its powers.

The Gaming Commission, in conjunction with the direction and intent of the Tribal Council, has established a comprehensive set of rules and regulations for the effective regulation of all gaming activities within the jurisdiction of the Tribe's standards known as the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribal Gaming Commission Regulations (Gaming Regulations), in order to protect the Tribe's assets, maintain the integrity of the Tribe's gaming activities and provide for the health and safety of the gaming public, and the employees of the Tribe's gaming facilities.
